I am a BACP accredited qualified person centred counsellor and offer a warm, approachable, non-judgmental and confidential safe place, where you can talk through your thoughts and feelings, enabling you to understand yourself and decide on ways to move forward.
I provide a person centred approach, meaning I am led by the clients own experiences as opposed to the 'counsellor' being the 'expert' and telling the client what to do, or even what is wrong with them. I will use my training and experience to support you and develop your well being, through this therapeutic journey to tackle your concerns, allowing you to come up with your own solutions by establishing the meaning of your responses and managing them appropriately. I will also provide you with the skills and resilience to help strengthen your mental health for the future.
My main aim is to help you identify the root cause of your issues, talk this through, whether that be negative thoughts, a specific stressful situation, relationship problems or past hurtful events, so you are able to live your life in the present and enable you to see a bright future.
I adhere to the BACP code of professional ethics and have regular supervision to ensure that I am working ethically; this reassures my clients that I am working professionally and giving therapy to the best of my ability.
To understand if I am the right therapist for you, I offer a free initial telephone consultation. This initial session allows you to see if you feel at ease to open up and build on a therapeutic journey together.
